Two Scholarships Handed Out This Year

The Grand Bend & Area Horticultural Society proudly presented its 2017 scholarship to two students on October 9th. Jackie Fuller is studying Landscape Design at Fanshawe College and Jaimee Clarke is studying Horticulture at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus.

Message from the President

Hello Hort Members,

I hope you all had a wonderful summer with colourful gardens and time to relax with friends and family.

Thanks to our volunteers the "Hort Gardens" added beautiful flower displays all around Grand Bend.

Attached are the meeting poster, the June 26th general meeting minutes and an article that appeared in the September 13th Lakeshore Advance.

Now is the time to plan for 2018.  We would like your suggestions for topics and/or speakers that are of interest to you.  There will be a sign-up sheet at the meeting or you can email me at gbhort@outlook.com.

We also need new members for our Board of Directors and committees (Planting, Program, Social, Publicity, Membership, Awards), so that our Society can continue to be an asset to our community.  It takes only a few hours a month and offers you a chance to share your ideas and talents.  For further details on positions, please contact me by phone or email.

At our September 25th meeting, Jeff Baarschers from Degroots Nurseries will give us lots of advice on "how to put our gardens to bed".
